Great Green Spaces was founded in 2025, born out of a lifelong passion for gardening and designing outdoor spaces.  My journey into garden design is underpinned by a rich professional background — over 25 years spent designing and developing outdoor spaces for recreation, specialising in sustainable trail development.

In 2024, I took the decision to formalise my gardening passion, enrolling at South Eastern Regional College where I achieved a Level 2 Certificate in Garden Design in 2025.  A highlight of the course was the opportunity to design a garden for a live client brief — a homeowner remodelling their property close to the shores of Belfast Lough. I was thrilled when my design was selected for implementation.

Recognising that there was always more to learn, I went on to enrol with the British Academy of Garden Design, commencing a Professional Diploma in Garden Design at University College Dublin in September 2025. I completed my course in May 2026 attaining Distinctions in all 15 of my assignments.  I look forward to graduating from the Academy later this year.
